All questions are compulsory. The marks alloted for each question are given at
same place
1) In a group of students, 100 students know Hindi, 50 know English and 25 know both. Each of
the students knows either Hindi or English. How many students are there in the group?

2)A committee of 7 has to be formed from 9 boys and 4 girls. In how many ways can this be
done when the committee consists of:
(i) exactly 3 girls?
(ii) at least 3 girls?

3) Find the equation of the parabola with vertex at (0, 0) passing through (5, 2) and symmetric
with respect to y-axis

4)Find the area of an equilateral triangle inscribed in the circle x2+y2 - 6x + 2y – 15 = 0.

5) The sum of first three terms of a G.P. is 12

and their product is –1. Find G.P.
6) Observe a one-day cricket match to be held in the year 2017. Prepare a project report
indicating the performance and comparision with respect to the following ponits:
(i) Range of the individual score of the players.
(ii) Compute team-wise mean deviation score.
(iii) Prepare team-wise grouped frequency distribution tables, showing the number of overs
as class intervals and corresponding scores as frequencies.
(iv) Represent the above frequency distribution table (Part iii) with the help of histogrames
